During 16 - 21 March 2019, H.E. Mr. Surasak Suparat, Non-Resident Ambassador of Thailand to Suriname travelled to Paramaribo to promote the Royal Thai Government’s Thai Kitchen to the World policy by co-organizing a Thai food cooking class for 25 culinary students of the Suriname Hospitality and Tourism Training Centre (SHTTC), under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism of Suriname. The chefs from the Ambassador’s Residence together with the SHTTC culinary students also prepared Thai food for the charity dinner, hosted by H.E. the Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism of Suriname, for SHTTC building repair project’s fund raising. Several diplomatic representatives in Suriname, namely the Ambassador of Brazil, Madade of the Ambassador of China and Charge d’Affaires of Indonesia also joined the dinner.
During the visit, H.E. Ambassador of Thailand also paid a courtesy call on H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. the Minister of Trade and met with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Suriname to discuss and follow up bilateral issues between the two countries.
